I can’t even start this category without a mention of O’Faolain’s. This is our local pub, our go to place. We were both going there for years before we met. And yes, we did meet in a bar. Although, it should be noted that yours truly had RULES about said bar. So much for rules.
It’s a great place to go if you want to find a regular spot to be a part of. The crowd is friendly, the staff is friendly. They remember your name, remember your drink. The chef, Andy, often puts new items on the menu, and so far it’s all been a hit. We went to a pig roast there one year and it was phenomenal!
If you want traditional, get the Celtic Stew. Or Guinness Stew. Whatever they are calling it this month. It’s my default dish when I can’t figure out what I want to eat. Late night at the bar? Grab one of the chicken pot pies before the kitchen closes. You’ll thank me for it.
Crickett is a big fan of the O’s Burger and we often bring one home to her. It’s huge, and pretty damn good. The onion straws make it perfect.
Check them out on Yelp. The reviews are mixed, but I can honestly say the only time I’ve ever had an issue there with the food is when they were having some staffing issues in the kitchen. Since Andy’s been back, it’s been as awesome as it once was.
