I was having a very rough week and Ed suggested we go out for a drive. We do that sometimes, just wander about aimlessly and then look for a place to eat. We found ourselves heading toward Frederick Maryland and decided to roll with it.
On the first Saturday of the month, downtown Frederick becomes a very entertaining place to be. There’s usually some type of event, live music, and oh dear god the food. So much food. And lots of little bars to pop in and out of.
On a mission for lunch, we came across Black Hog BBQ. Of course we stopped in. We sat in the back at the bar (the very little bar) and ordered some food. And it was pretty good.
I had the Kansas City wet ribs and some pulled pork. Ed had the Memphis style dry ribs and the brisket. Good stuff right there! The coleslaw, and I’m always on the hunt for a good coleslaw, wasn’t fantastic, but the beans were good and the beer was good and the bartenders were awesome.
Next time you are wandering about Frederick, stop in and eat something yummy!
